About the Team
This role will report to the Head of Production and will manage a team of Mechanics, Electricians and Production Workers; based full time at our Military Vehicle Centre of Excellence (MILVEHCOE) in Redbank. The Assembly Team forms part of the greater Production team, which includes Painters, Welders, the Prototype Shop, the Armour Shop and the Logistic Systems team.
About the Role
The Production Manager – Turret & Weapons is accountable for leading the safe, efficient and process aligned delivery of allocated Production Orders in line with the Production Schedule. The role is responsible for ensuring production activities are executed to the highest standards of safety, quality, cost and schedule to support overall vehicle build milestones.
Working collaboratively across Engineering, Warehousing/Supply Chain, Production Engineering, Assembly, Paint and Program Management; the Production Manager will optimise production performance by implementing lean principles, resolve operational challenges and ensure alignment with program priorities and customer requirements. As a key member of the Integrated Product Team (IPT), the Production Manager contributes to strategic planning, supports business objectives and plays a critical role in delivering Turrets to both internal and external customers on time and to build state requirements.

The experience and skillset best suited to this role includes:
- Trade or tertiary qualifications in related discipline of Mechanical, Electrical or Armament System Maintenance or a related technical discipline;
- Proven experience in Production or Operations Leadership, within the Defence Industry;
- Proven ability to devise and implement strategic development and resource planning;
- Operational knowledge and capability of the Microsoft Office Professional suite and SharePoint;
- Experience in managing complex Weapon/ Weapons System projects and project resources including suppliers and multiple service providers in a variety of environments;
- Must have experience with medium calibre advanced weapon plantforms and proven experience managing a team to produce, maintain and repair.
- The ability to travel interstate or overseas for short training periods (infrequent); and
- Eligibility to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance (Australian Citizenship required).
