About the Team

Our Subcontracts team are based at our Military Vehicle Centre of Excellence (MILVEHCOE) and are a critical element in the Supply Chain function, supporting Rheinmetall's commercial and risk outcomes through the provision of high quality business partnering, contract management and support, including the growth and maintenance of sustainable and beneficial commercial relationships with suppliers, contractors and all internal stakeholders. Working in a high performing, tight-knit team, the Subcontract Specialist will report into the Subcontracts Manager and partner closely with all elements of the business to achieve our objectives.

About the Role

The Subcontracts Specialist will have broad exposure to the business and support the full subcontract lifecycle across a diverse domestic and international supply chain, including pre-award negotiations, contract administration, risk review and performance management, and the close-out of complex subcontract packages. The successful candidate will ensure all subcontract activities meet RDA’s commercial and legal policies and standards while achieving RDA’s business objectives. This role requires strong relationship management skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills to foster effective engagement with suppliers and seamless collaboration with internal stakeholders and management. You will also support the implementation of process improvement initiatives and deliver accurate, insightful reporting and initiatives to support operational excellence and improved risk management across the supply chain.

The experience and skillset best suited to this role includes: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Law or related field;
  • Proven experience in subcontract (or commercial) management, procurement or related field;
  • Strong knowledge of contract management processes and procedures, contract law, and relevant regulations;
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills;
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities; and
  • Eligibility to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance (Australian Citizenship required).
