Quality Assurance Engineer

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

• Quality Management System:

Ensure project and product conformance to ISO 9001 requirements and client specifications.

 Conduct internal audits according to ISO 9001:2015.

• Corrective Action Management:

 Lead and facilitate 8D problem-solving reports and manage internal and external corrective actions.

• Quality Engineering:

Review and approve technical documentation, including Process Manufacturing Instructions (PMI), Control Plans (CP), Facility Operating Instructions (FOI), Safe Work Instructions (SWI), and Engineering Change Proposals (ECP).

Compile and update process FMECA, process inspection reports, and process qualification specifications/reports while ensuring 100% build history integrity and traceability.

• Product Acceptance:

Oversee the release of products through formal development, qualification, and lot acceptance testing.

• Operational Support:

Monitor and analyse costs of non-quality (scrap, rework, and quarantine) and prepare statistical and operational performance reports.

Coordinate the control of non-conforming items during development and series production.

Perform product and process evaluations to identify areas for improvement and lead continuous improvement projects.

Promote and Build a Quality-First Mindset.

Adheres and implements Rheinmetall Denel Munitions Policies and Procedures and ensures compliance to ISO Standards with respect to SHE/Quality/Environmental/Energy.

• Mentoring:

Guide and coach junior members within the Quality Assurance sphere in problem-solving and technical activities.

• BEng or BSc in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
• Quality Lead Auditor certification is recommended
• At least 5 years of experience in product design and development, along with experience in product industrialization within a mechanical or chemical engineering environment.
• Proven knowledge of ISO 9001 /AQAP 2110 standards and problem-solving techniques.
• Experience with Explosives, Propellants, Pyrotechnics, Mortars, or Missile Sub-systems is a distinct advantage.
• Fully computer literate with proficiency in SAP, Minitab (statistical techniques), and MS Office.
