About the Team
The Material Coordinator will report to the Inventory Planning Manager and work in close collaboration with Production, Warehousing and Procurement driving performance improvement and efficiency across the business. The Material Coordinator is responsible for the controlling and management of inventory by ensuring the materials are properly identified and recorded in SAP-ERP system. Whilst being responsible for managing material movements internally and planning requirements to support business needs
About the Role
Reporting to Inventory Planning Manager you will be responsible for managing materials movements internally and planning the requirements to support business needs. The Material Coordinator is responsible for controlling and management of inventory by ensuring the materials are properly identified and recorded in SAP-ERP system.
The general and generic duties of the Material Coordinator include, but are not limited to:
- Conduct demand analysis of materials across multiple projects, including analysis of turns and obsolescence, to determine strategies for managing inventory, including MRP parameters;
- Analysis to identify and actively reduce surplus or obsolete stock (SLOB);
- SAP Material Master Data;
- Support SAP material master data team includes: manufacturer’s part number, batch/lot number, dangerous goods flag, expired life data, serial number, preferred supplier, supplier lead time, and MRP;
- Monitor inventory performance and implement corrective and improvement actions as required;
- Identify and manage risks associated with poor inventory performance;
- Manage offsite raw material, invoice clearing and maintaining material traceability; and
- Manage stocktake investigations, verify accuracy of inventory.

The experience and skillset best suited to this role includes:
- Tertiary qualification in relevant field or equivalent working experience;
- Strong systems experience in the area of Material Controller role (SAP EWM and ERP) with an understanding of batch management;
- Experience in inventory (analysis, forecasting, master data) in similar roles and/or environment;
- Exposure to the steel industry with an understanding of traceability requirements;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to interrogate data;
- Excellent MS Excel capabilities (Pivot tables, V-lookups as a minimum); and
- Eligibility to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance (Australian Citizenship required).
