WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Utilise a range of manual and computer numerically controlled (CNC) machine tools.
- Perform repairs, adjustments, and regular preventative maintenance on machines.
- Guarantee optimal performance during the manufacturing processes
- Analyse detailed engineering drawings and CAD models, utilising knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) in manufacturing processes.
- Liaise with Development engineers to ensure cost effective manufacturability.
- Draw up cost estimates for machining of components.
- Write CNC program and export to lathe.
- Configure Test and debug CNC program.
- Responsible for driving continuous improvement within the various manufacturing processes equipment
- Perform ad hoc tasks as requested by line management
- Adhere to all applicable legislation within RDM.
- Adheres and implements Rheinmetall Denel Munitions Policies and Procedures and ensures compliance to ISO Standards with respect to SHE /Quality /Environmental/Energy
WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE
- National Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification.
- NQF 5 (Higher Certificate) in Engineering will be advantageous.
- Trade Test (Turner Machinist).
- At least 5 years of experience post trade in a manufacturing environment of which 3 years should have been in CNC machining and composite programming
- Certificate in programming of CNC milling machines will be advantageous.
- Exhibit expertise in sandblasting process, spray booth, assembly of components, bonding, and the analysis of drawings.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- A valid Code 8 Drivers License.
- Ability to perform effectively in high-pressure environment.
- Strong leadership qualities.
