WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Execution of production plan and scheduled maintenance.
- Ensure that all relevant Safety, Health, Environment, Quality and Explosive regulatory requirements/ systems or standards are adhered to.
- Manage all process and equipment changes via the applicable modification’s procedures.
- Accountable for the Facility Operating Instructions for all facilities and also for the training of all employees.
- Accountable in ensuring that all employees are trained on the relevant safety, quality and operational documentation pertaining to their jobs. For example; (including but not limited to; FOIs, PMIs, Control Plans, HIRAs, permits, etc.).
- Responsible for driving continuous improvement within their facilities.
- Responsible for the issue of safe work permits, job cards, exit permits, etc.
- Responsible for filing and record keeping of all quality, SHE documentation, i.e. COA’s, appointment letters, etc.
- Responsible to ensure that all employees are always equipped with the correct PPE.
- Responsible for timesheets of employees.
- Responsible for the budgets under his/her control, Material Indirect, PPE and Fuel.
- Any other miscellaneous task agreed on between Manager and Supervisor.
- Adheres and implements Rheinmetall Denel Munitions Policies and Procedures and ensures compliance to ISO Standards with respect to SHE/Quality/Environmental/Energy.
WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE
- National Senior Certificate or NQF 4 equivalent qualification.
- NQF 6 in Engineering would be advantageous.
- At least 5 years’ experience in a chemical/explosives manufacturing environment.
- In depth knowledge of energetic raw materials manufacturing processes and equipment, i.e. chemistry, mass and energy balances.
- Must be able to lead by example and enforce the necessary discipline when required.
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work with other support departments.
- Computer literate, MS Office, ERP and MES systems.
- Demonstrate good judgement and display initiative.
- Must be able to work shifts and overtime on short notice.
- Must be able to work ROTA shift when production plan requires it.
