The main armament of the Leopard 2 – the world's most effective tank –, the PzH 2000* self-propelled howitzer system, and an innovative new generation of enhanced range ammunition are just a few of the cutting edge products made by Rheinmetall. Moreover, Rheinmetall has been active in the field of laser weapon systems for many years. In the world of laser weapon stations and laser sources, Rheinmetall has laid the foundation for a future 100kW laser weapon system, demonstrating its fundamental feasibility.

* In the joint venture with the prime contractor Krauss-Maffei Wegmann (KMW), Rheinmetall is responsible for about 50% of the PzH 2000.
