Rheinmetall BAE Systems Land Limited

Rheinmetall BAE Systems Land (RBSL) is a defence engineering company based in the UK. It designs, manufactures and supports military vehicles used by the British Army and international customers.

RBSL was launched in July 2019 as a new, UK-based joint venture business between BAE Systems and Rheinmetall. The business has a proud heritage, having designed and delivered many of the Army’s armoured vehicle fleets under different business names. RBSL employs a skilled workforce of more than 700 people, including over 300 engineers and 50 apprentices across its UK sites in Telford, Dorset, Bristol, and Newcastle.

RBSL is delivering Challenger 3 – 148 modern tanks designed, manufactured and assembled in the UK – providing the British Army with world-class capability.

RBSL is also supporting the delivery of the £2.3bn Boxer contract announced between UK MOD and ARTEC GmbH – a joint venture between Rheinmetall Landsysteme GmbH, Rheinmetall Defence Nederland B.V, and KNDS Deutschland GmbH & Co. KG. The vehicle production has been subcontracted to RBSL and KNDS UK, with the fabrication of the armoured vehicle structures together with assembly, integration and test of the complete vehicles at their respective facilities in Telford and Stockport, with support from the UK supply chain.
