FCS-MR500

40mm fire control system

Supported accurancy

Rheinmetall's FCS-MR500 fire control system is designed for 40mm LV (low velocity) and MV (medium velocity) grenade launchers. It can be mounted (e.g. with Picatinny Rail MIL-STD-1913/STANAG4694) on the grenade launcher: Single, Underslung or Multiple Grenade Launcher. By correcting the elevation angle using RSE algorithm, the FCS-MR500 increases the hit probability of the 40mm projectile. It includes an IR aiming laser and an IR illuminator for illumination in low-light conditions in combination with night vision goggles (NVG).
In addition, the FCS-MR500 supports the use of various weapons and sights and can be mounted on either the left or right side (rotating adapter plate).

Variable use

Improved night combat capability and increase (first) hit probability with 40mm projectiles - FCS-MR500 fire control system includes a powerful IR aiming laser and IR illuminator.

2064

For easy alignment of the lasers to the line of sight, the FCS-MR500 fire control system includes the specially designed, factory-aligned Rheinmetall laser block.

Visible aiming laser
The IR aiming laser of the FCS-MR500, which is not visible to the naked eye, is usually used in combination with night vision goggles (NVG). In this way, it enables a significant increase in night combat capability, surprising effect, and hit probability.

IR aiming laser (not visible)
In addition, the FCS-MR500 fire control system has an infrared illuminator, which is not visible to the naked eye. In combination with night vision goggles (NVG), this provides optimal illumination at night, in dark rooms and in poorly lit target areas.

40 mm ballistics
The integrated RSE algorithm in the FCS-MR500 is used to correct the elevation angle. Manual adjustment of the device on the launcher allows the firing angle to be adjusted and increases the (first) hit probability. Maximum storage capacity: 32 ammunition types.

ABM programmer interface
The FCS-MR500 can be complemented by an external serial interface to link an air burst programmer (ABM programmer) or laser range finder (LRF). Air Burst Munitions (ABM) can be detonated in the air, allowing an effect in front of or above the target area - e.g. for engagement behind vehicles or walls.

Outstanding laser safety

To protect the eyes, the FCS-MR500 uses the concept of the power-limiting blue safety screw.

"Train as you fight" - the use of the blue safety screw allows realistic training with mission-relevant equipment. The laser power is - depending on your choice - either reduced (training) or released to the maximum (combat).
