LM-VTAL

High-end laser module: Elite night combat capability

Unique architecture

The Rheinmetall LM-VTAL (Variable Tactical Aiming Laser) laser module is a highly rugged and compact laser aiming and IR illumination module designed to enhance night combat capability and responsiveness for close fitting mounting to the Picatinny Rail (MIL-STD-1913/STANAG4694). The heavy-duty all-metal body includes an integrated mount that allows seamless attachment to modern assault rifles or submachine guns. The weatherproof design of this laser module with IR laser, IR illuminator and visible aiming laser (red or green) impresses with its low mounting height on the Picatinny Rail of only 26 mm - sights are not obstructed when top mounted.

Variable laser

Improved night combat capability and increased reaction speed - The LM-VTAL laser module includes a powerful visible aiming laser, an IR laser and an IR illuminator.

2064

For easy alignment of the lasers to the line of sight, the LM-VTAL laser module includes the specially designed, factory-aligned Rheinmetall laser block.

Visible aiming laser (red or green)
When the LM-VTAL is mounted on the Picatinny Rail, the visible aiming laser is located on the barrel axis. It enables a highly visible and accurate marking of the target aimed with the weapon and increases the (first) hit probability. The range here depends on various environmental influences and is normally several hundred meters.

IR aiming laser (not visible)
The LM-VTAL IR aiming laser, which is not visible to the naked eye, is usually used in combination with night vision goggles (NVG). In this way, it enables a significant increase in night combat capability, surprising effect, and hit probability. The range here depends on various environmental factors and can reach up to 2000 m.

IR illuminator (not visible)
In addition, the LM-VTAL laser module has an electronically focusable infrared illuminator, which is not visible to the naked eye. In combination with night vision goggles (NVG), this provides optimal illumination at night, in dark rooms and in poorly lit target areas. The LM-VTAL offers a stepless change of the IR illuminator from far to near. The use of a near-field illuminator is available to support Close Quaters Battle (CQB).

Outstanding laser safety

For eye protection, the LM-VTAL uses Rheinmetall's patented concept of color-coded trigger cables / dongles for laser and laser light modules.
"Train as you fight" - the free choice of power-defining trigger cables / dongles enables realistic training with mission-relevant equipment. The laser power is - depending on your choice - either reduced (training) or released to the maximum (combat).

Custom colors available, e.g. blue for training, black and grey for combat.
